Tara Leigh DeAngelis is a San Diego native who grew up playing in the fields of rural Riverside, California. After graduating from UCR with a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing she ventured to Boulder, Colorado to draw inspiration from the clear air, Rocky Mountains and daily bus meditations to and from work. Although she doesn’t feel heavily influenced by other writers, a few of her favorites include Annie Dillard, Clarice Lispector, Hafiz, Flannery O’Connor Paulo Coelho, and Joseph Joubert. Tara’s previous poem, “The Mourning Light” was published in Flight Anthology, 2007. “The Sea Weed” was featured in Mosaic‘s 50th anniversary edition.
