Darlene Kriesel is a former high school English teacher who left the teaching ranks to pursue writing full time. Her ear for writing developed early on from the African-American culture, with its poetry, music, rhythm, and figurative language, and her mind always leads her to the most poignant and powerful details of human strife and joy, that is, to the heart of a story. She lives in Riverside with her four children and her husband and stays busy blogging for her favorite non-profit causes, taking editing jobs and, of course, working on her current novel.
