Eileen Austen has been nominated for several awards including the Kirkwood Prize for Fiction at UCLA where she was a student in the Extension Writer’s Program. A recent graduate of the new, low residency Master of Fine Arts program at the University of California, Riverside, Austen worked with Tod Goldberg, Mary Otis, Deanne Stillman and Mark Haskell Smith. Last year Austen was selected to attend and become a member of the Squaw Valley Community of Writers. Critical publications include a review of the work of Alice Munro which appeared in the December 2010 issue of Gently Read Literature. Presently at work on her first novel, Austen resides in sunny Westlake Village, California.
