Choice

I haven’t yet decided
if I want to belong

a family of
mathematicians
math is everywhere
I tried to capture a square root
but the language
fell out

you claim self-destruction
may taste of redemption

but home is irresistible
when my chest
burns with your name

suck and snort and spit
your words raw
while I unpeel, untaste
this

band-aid on a gunshot wound
I unwrite him

and dream
of calamity

Good work! I like the play on “root” and the sense imagery was great
